Does it support xDSL for the internet connection?

 

  Yes, NetSwitch II-R support xDSL, Cable Modem, and ISDN as well, for WAN interface.

 

   Does it require any additional Hub like NetSwitch II-M?

 

  No, NetSwitch II-R embeds Switching Hub features for external network. Thus, you do not need

  an additional Hub like NetSwitch II-M, but you should use Hub for internal network.

  

   Does it support the management features?

  

  Yes, NetSwitch II-R has Firewall and Switching Hub features. Thus, NetSwitch II-R supports

  Telnet, HTTP, and the administrator can manage it remotely on the network.

  

  Does it support NAT(Network Address Translation)feature?

  

  Yes, it support NAT feature.

  

  How many users does it support?

  

  NetSwitch II-R support 12 Ethernet ports, 10/100 Base T. So it allows 12 user to use NetSwitch

  -R, But if you use UpLink port, it supports 24 users.

  

  Which protocol is it supported?

  

  All protocols are supported for internal network, but TCP/IP, NetBEUI, etc. are supported

  for WAN interface.

  

  Is it easy to use NetSwitch II-M, from the user's point of view?

  

  Yes, it is very simple in operation. Only one drawback of NetSwitch II-M is that you can not use

  internal and external network at the same time. Whenever you want to access into the other

  network from the current network, you have to switch the network through IPChanger, a bundle

  program of NetSwitch II-M. But it just takes 1.5 seconds to switch the network.

  

  Is it necessary to upgrade any firmware if it is released the latest version

     of firmware for NetSwitch II-R?

  Yes, you can upgrade the firmware through TFTP protocol remotely if we announce the latest

  version of NetSwitch II-R firmware.

  

  Does it require the password entry for the network administrator?

  

  The network administrator should enter password to manage NetSwitch II-R.

  

  What is different from NetSwitch II-M?

  

  In fact, NetSwitch II-R is designed for the branch offices and SOHO(Small Office Home Office)

  user. It supports only for 12 users per NetSwitch II-R and embeds the external Switching Hub

  features and WAN interface.

  Furthermore, it supports the firewall features. Generally, SOHO and branch offices, or relatively

  smaller offices than others do not afford the firewall because of the cost it takes. But they need

  to take a good care of the internet, to protest and secure the external network as much as they

  can. At this point, NetSwitch II-R supports the firewall features, such as packet filtering, URL

  blocking, etc.
