NPA(National Police Agency) is a first-line organization of national security as a base for anti-

  crime activities for maintaining the security of an area in consideration of Korean population,

  area, administrative district, frequency of crime, etc.

  The total number of nationwide police offices are 2,912, manned by 39,000 policemen.

  NPA receives data and information from a variety of sources, from other government

  agencies to private organizations, (such as banks etc.). It must verify the integrity of the

  information and data, and protect the information from outside.

  The data and information used at NPA is classified with national security. To assure the

  integrity  of the data and information, NPA, physically and completely, isolates its internal

  network. NPA has to protect and secure even the data and information of all desktops, let

  alone the security of its internal network.

  To ensure any data and information leakage from the internet, NPA sets up as small and

  separated room only dedicated to the internet access at the corner of the office.

  At the point of its user's view, it is very clumsy and costly solution. First of all, more than

  half of the officers have to access the internet for collecting and sharing data and information

  with private organizations. To work properly and efficiently, the officers have to use the

  internet. In terms of time and productivity, the cost of NPA wasted is really considerable.

  To make matters worse, users who need to access the internet shirk going to the internet

  room. It is really time-consuming, and furthermore they can not give good image to their

  boss on account of their absence in needed.

  And, certainly it is costly solution to the organization. To maintain the internet room, it takes

  lots of budget to NPA.  And NPA has suffered from the lack of office space for years.

  Thus maintaining the internet room was quite a burden to NPA.

  NPA must provide its officers the complete and efficient access to the internet and internal

  network with the perfect and complete security of  its internal network and individual's

  desktops. The decision of NPA was to install DualNET on each desktop where access to both

  internal and external network was a necessity. DualNET was the perfect and complete solution

  to NPA.

  NPA installed DualNET on each desktop and purchased an additional HDD for external network

  storage. To implement, it requires an additional HDD for the external network storage.

  DualNET physically separates the HDD of desktop into internal and external HDD on a single

  desktop.  And there is not any physical network separation between the internal and external

  network.  In order to use the internet from the internal network, users have to turn the key of

  DualNET into the internet position. Then your system requires a system reboot. In order to

  secure any possible information leakage, even the information that exists on Flesh Memory

  of your desktop, DualNET requires the system reboot whenever you convert your network

   into another.

  Through this physical separation of HDD and networks, NPA verifies the integrity of data

  and information, and provides its officers the complete and efficient access to the information

  on the internet. In addition, NPA solved the matter of the lack of office space as converting

  the internet room into office space.

  Through DualNET solution, NPA recognizes that it can save lots of budget related to the

  network maintenance and security. NPA had spent lots of budget to operate the internet

  room, for buying additional computers and maintaining these facilities. But it does not need

  to operate this isolated internet room any more, through DualNET solution.

  In terms of time and productivity, NPA can increase the time efficiency and the productivity

  as supplying the officers the instance access to the internal network and the internet at their

  own desks.

  Thanks to the complete security and additional effectiveness of DualNET, NPA decided to

  expand the use of DualNET to all police agencies nationwide.
